H. 4364: A bill to allow the lawful possession of handguns by certain persons under age 21 if engaged in the business of dealing in firearms."
Principles Involved: There is no ethical basis to allow handgun possession by one adult but not another, based only on where he is employed.
GrassRoots Position: GrassRoots would support this bill if amended so as not to ban possession by all law-abiding adults equally.
Current Status: In House Judiciary committee.

GrassRoots attended the Senate Judiciary Committee meeting where H. 4364 was discussed. Sen. Hutto amended the bill to permit possession of hanguns by persons age 18 and older (instead of 21).
